Press Release – O’Gorman first candidate in Dublin West broadcasting on YouTube

03/05/07

Green Party Dublin West candidate, Roderic O’Gorman, has become the first candidate in the Dublin West constituency to start broadcasting on YouTube.

“I’ve been using a blog for a number of months now and I’ve been getting a really positive reaction to it, so making a video and sticking it up on YouTube seemed the logical next step. More and more people are using the internet as a source of information and I think it will play a significant part in helping people make up their minds on who to vote for in our General Election. Also, as someone who has a very limited budget for the campaign, it allows me reach a large number of people cheaply”, said Roderic O’Gorman.

The three minute video clip sees Roderic give an update on the campaign to date. O’Gorman promises more to come on his site, www.youtube.com/OGorman2007.

“I hope to have one or two videos coming out each week, focusing on the core issues that I am campaigning on and that people are raising with me on the doorsteps. I think it will be useful for voters who have missed me when I am out canvassing as they will get to hear exactly what I have to say about the key issues. My next update is on the schools places crisis in Dublin 15, and what I and the Green Party are proposing to do about it”, concluded Roderic O’Gorman.
